Post Description
June 4, 2009 - The Harvest Moon franchise is Natsume's cash cow. Fitting, since the games include a lot of cows. The series will make its debut on WiiWare later this year with Harvest Moon: My Little Shop. It's kind of a stripped-down version of the game that includes some of the farming it is known for and adds mini-games and a retail environment.
You can sell your crops in a variety of stores tailored to their merchandise. Fruits and vegetables can be used to open a juice shop, for instance. Milk from your cow can be used to open an ice creamery. Over the course of the game the player will build a retail empire.
The mini-games are simple exercises that make use of the Wii remote's pointing and motion-sensing functionalities. In one case we had to pick out the ripe vegetables passing by on a conveyor belt. Another had us mixing ingredients in a blender by violently waggling our remote. Making an ice cream cone required us to hold the remote upright and move it in a circle as if it were under a soft serve machine. There was also a memory game where we had to mimic the tune of a singing cow.
