Post Description
In October 1991, the Spanish town of Seville hosted the largest group of talented guitarplayers the world has ever seen. Ranging from jazz-virtuoso Les Paul to rock guitar king Joe Satriani, Seville was - for one spectacular week - Guitar Heaven for everyone who was at least slightly interested in the instrument.
This DVD contains a documentary preceeding the Seville Guitar Week. It was broadcasted in 1991 by the BBC and is called '"Through The Electric Age", the story of the Electric Guitar'.
In this documentary, many of the guitar players who also appeared in Sevilla tell about their love for the instrument and what the guitar means for them. Through their accounts, the viewer gets a pretty good idea about how the electric guitar evolved from a rythm instrument in the 1930's and 1940's, to the most potent, sexual and pseudo-religious instrument to date.
